Kids are exasperating

But a newborn and very warranted penalisation was I confiscated her radiophone sound — permanently. If she wants a radiophone phone, she’ll have to acquire digit herself, and clew up for assist herself, in her possess name. She went ballistic on that one.

Does anyone advert the senior days of not using flash on a locate because Google wouldn’t index it? every along the way Search engines have been getting meliorate at indexing flash .swf files in a web page. On June 30th 2008 Google declared that it had developed a flash indexing algorythm and could today index flash. what specifically you say? Ahhhh well .SWF files of every shapes and sizes! ok Just kidding…. sort of. Google says through adobe’s newborn searchable SWF library it is able to index:
1. SWF files - this includes gadgets, buttons, menus, consciousness contained websites etc.
2. Better indexing of text and hyperlinks in a swf file.
3. images in flash files don’t get indexed, nor does text in those images
4. FLV files don’t get indexed.
Google sees the flash files as a human would, by clicking links and exploring resulting tender or element and production up text. There limitations to google’s newborn flash algorithm, those are:
1. Google doesn’t garner up some kinds of javascript, if the swf file is loaded via javascript then there is a quantity it may not get indexed.
2. Google doesn’t discern noesis loaded by a swf file as conception of the actualised flash -this means that if your SWF loads a .xml, .html, addional .swf , etc it won’t be indexed as conception of the orignal swf that loaded the file. the loaded files will get indexed separately
3. google cannot still index languages that are bifacial - this means that Hebrew and Semite text in flash files will not get indexed. but most another language’s will.
Ok so if your going to take plus of googles flashy newborn formula then make sure you use text in your flash file! that will get indexed!

From FooCamp to Ypulse to BlogHer in 8 days
I went soured the radiolocation for a few weeks. Apologies for that. I have a lot going on in my life correct today - not every of it good - that is taking up a lot of my time and headspace at the moment. Plus I’ve been traveling a lot. I just got backwards from a 10 day trip to the Bay Atlantic for 3 conferences — FooCamp, Ypulse, and BlogHer.
It was my first FooCamp (I’m so psyched that I got an invite!). For those of you unfamiliar with Foo Camp, it is the predecessor to BarCamp with the word “Foo” an acronym for “Friends of O’Reilly.” Besides existence a huge fan of O’Reilly since about 1994, I’m co-authoring an O’Reilly aggregation with author Fishkin and Jessie Stricchiola titled The Art of SEO and I’ve spoken twice at O’Reilly/CMP’s “Web 2.0 Expo” conference. So yes I’m an unabashed “Foo”. FooCamp is invitation-only and limited to individual hundred people. It’s an “unconference” — where the information is developed and presented by the attendees. The more proactive you are at Foo Camp (in terms of sharing/participating), the more you’ll get discover of it (and the more likely you’ll be invited backwards again). It’s completely free - free to attend, free food, free drinks, free “lodging” on the grounds - just alter your possess tent. And yep, a lot of folks brought tents and camped discover on the lawn. Some folks slept in the duty buildings on the floor in unerect bags. I’m not into “roughing it”, so I stayed at a nearby Holiday Inn Express. My senior two daughters got to hang discover at the Holiday Inn while I went to the conference, which was pretty dull — so they told me… about a MILLION times! Arrgh. Gotta love teenagers. Speaking of my teenagers, the middle digit (who is 15) drew this flattering illustration (on the left) of me wearing a Foo Camp t-shirt. She finds it quite hilarious that I wear a T-shirt in open that says “Foo Camp.” Of instruction I live to embarrass her (or so she thinks!).
Foo Camp attendees separate the gamut - entrepreneurs to authors to venture capitalists - but they crapper every be described as leading thinkers and innovators. It was a actual treat. I got to meet a lot of awful people. Way too many to list. But here’s an example: the founder of Drupal, Dries Buytaert. Dries blogged about his Foo Camp experience. Nobody has a intense time at Foo Camp.
After the Foo Camp weekend came Ypulse, a youngness marketing conference. It was excellent. If you market to kids, tweens or teens, you should have been at this word (so go to the incoming one!). My oldest Chloe was a speaker on the “Totally Wired Superstars” commission with another teen entrepreneurs. I rattling enjoyed the conference, but Chloe was in heaven — she met directors (Chloe wants to be a director), journalists, folks from Disney, Seventeen.com, MTV, and her hero, Ashley Qualls, the teenage “MySpace millionaire”.
Then a pair days later came the BlogHer conference, a word focused on the women blogger accord — a coercive and diverse voice in the blogosphere that includes “mommy bloggers”, foodies, semipolitical bloggers, techies, etc. It was my ordinal BlogHer conference. I went last assemblage too, when Chloe spoke. This time we just attended. Chloe did manage to get on the local (Bay area) programme (see the video here) - she was interviewed as an attendee.
BlogHer was great. I did sometimes feel like the “token male” in the audience, because women so outnumbered men (I never felt unwelcome though, just to clarify!). Instead of feeling discover of place, a male could look at it as an opportunity. For instance, I advert a guy telling me at last year’s BlogHer how he loved reaching to their conferences because “it was like actuation fish in a barrel”. Ha ha! I move he was single, but I belike shouldn’t adopt that. 
Now I’m backwards and it’s backwards to the grindstone. I have articles to write, the aggregation to impact on, word presentations to educate for, a ton of emails to move to, and individualized crises to deal with. *deep sigh*
