A few weeks past a co-worker and I were discussing some bands we like (we are children of the eighties, so assume with me) and more than a few we labeled “wuss” sway bands. Now this isn’t needs an insult, but more of a classification. As I said we personally liked the bands, but we had to adjudge that a large sort of their favourite songs were kinda, well…wussy.

Twitter account for about a year, now, but I didn’t rattling “get it” at first - mostly because there weren’t very many tweeps (twitter/peeps) on there that I cared to tweet to, or with. It wasn’t until Nov that I saw more and more tweeps that I knew, thus Twitter became a staple in my ever-growing social media disorder.
I would feature that the tipping saucer for Twitter among us SEO folk occurred towards the end of January after Brian Chappell posted 75+ Internet Marketing Gurus on Twitter. The list has since grown to over 200 with tweeps continuing to add their Twitter URLs in the comments.

Twitter Tools
If you’re using Twitter and blogging on WordPress, then the Twitter Tools plugin by Alex King is pretty much a must-have. As Alex describes it:
Twitter Tools is a plugin that creates a rank integration between your WordPress journal and your Twitter account.
To install it, just like you’ve most likely done with another plugins, every you have to do is download the .zip file and upload it to your WordPress plugins directory, then edit it from the Plugins tender in your WordPress Administration.
Once Twitter Tools is activated, you’ll have a newborn tender for it under Options:

After you add your Twitter username and password, the options are:
- Create a tweet when you place in your blog? I have this ordered to YES. So, every time I place something on my journal here, a message like this one is automatically tweeted:

- Create a journal place from each of your tweets? I have this ordered to NO. If ordered to YES, every time you place a tweet, a journal place will automatically be created on your journal with what you tweeted. I don’t wager why you would want to do this.
- Create a daily digest journal place from your tweets? I have this ordered to NO. If ordered to YES, every of your tweets made during the day will automatically be listed in digit post. Oilman had this enabled for a little while. This seems to be a lot more tolerable than the choice above.
- Title for digest posts: If you ordered the choice above to YES, opt YES here if you want to customize the title for your daily digest posts.
- Select a collection for your tweet posts: Here, you crapper superior the collection on your journal that the semiautomatic journal posts made from your tweets should go under.
- Select an communicator for your tweet posts: Here, you crapper superior the communicator on your journal to whom the semiautomatic journal posts made from your tweets should be appointed to.
- Tweets to exhibit in sidebar: If you wish to display your latest tweets in your journal sidebar, you crapper ordered the sort of tweets to display here. I have mine ordered to 3, as you crapper wager in my sidebar under Kid Disco’s Latest Tweets. In visit to enable the sidebar option, if you are using widgets, you crapper exclusive drag Twitter Tools to your sidebar. So, there you have it! Twitter and WordPress. It’s a great compounding and Twitter Tools makes it easy to integrate the two to function with each other. To be honest, I installed Twitter Tools a few months past and haven’t touched it since. Just ordered it and forget it!

Google Universal Listings Not Taking Away From Original 10 Spots In SERPs Anymore?

Back in April, I wrote about the manner in which the Google Local Onebox was attending on the results page. Up until a few days ago, the Onebox/Universal listings were taking absent a sort of the 10 spots acquirable on the results page, as shown here from a screenshot taken of a wager for bellagio las vegas from the previously mentioned place made backwards in April:

As you crapper see, the Local Onebox took absent 3 spots from the 10 results, so there were just 7 remaining spots left for the rest of the results.
Today, when I action the aforementioned search, I wager this:

I have the Customize Google FireFox extension enabled, which gives you the choice to sort the wager results… So, as you crapper see, today there are 10 lawful results in constituent to the Local Onebox, for a grand total of 13 results!
I first detected this phenomenon a few days past when I performed the following wager for kosuke fukudome and saw the the results were numbered to 11, which I never saw before:

So, now, it appears as though the Local and News Universal Search listings do not calculate as digit of the 10 listings on the results page. However, it looks like Video listings still take up sort of spots from the 10 allotted, as seen in this wager for surfing huge wave:

I think these termination sets make a lot more sense. I have a feeling that more users were clicking to the ordinal tender when the Local listing previously took absent 3 spots and left just 7 spots for the rest of the results.
The video listings still taking up a sort of the 10 spots also makes significance because it’s inevitable that more than digit video would be germane for a query, whereas there will ever be just digit termination for a News listing.
However, I still don’t like how the News listing could materialize at the top, middle, or lowermost of the results. I’d kinda just wager it materialize at the top.
I also don’t wager why the Local termination still needs to take up every that space and exhibit 3 listings. I think it should materialize like the News listing and I’d also kinda just wager it materialize at the top in the traditional Onebox location.
I think Goog will tardily migrate backwards more towards the traditional Onebox at the top of the results for some of the Universal listings in the months to come. It just makes more significance to me…
